Amtrak 48 (P42DC) at Napavine

Amtrak 48 on the southbound Coast Starlight at Napavine, Washington, on Oct. 2, 2009. It appears the unit had a close encounter of the crunch kind on the conductor’s side.

BNSF Seattle Sub – South of Napavine

Taken at MP 67.2 at Avery Road. This was supposed to be the double headed steam special consisting of SP 4449 and UP 844. However the special was running some hours late so while we were waiting, we shot all the trains that BNSF and UP ran that day.
