Before the Burlington Northern – Santa Fe merger, Santa Fe locomotives were a rare sight in the Pacific Northwest. The proposed Southern Pacific – Santa Fe merger produced the “Kodachrome” paint scheme shown here on ATSF 8133, but before BNSF we usually saw the “SP” versions and not the “SF.”

ATSF 8133 is shown after the BNSF merger in January 1998 in Tacoma, Washington. It is a GE C30-7 built in June 1981 (#42560).
